2023 was a year where Australia's foreign policy resolve and trade institutions were tested, facing ongoing uncertainties with the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, the attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, and tension in East Asia.

How can this year be a time for renewal, cooperation, and strategic resilience?

Join us for a lunchtime talk and networking session as policy-makers consider emerging diplomatic focal points like the World Trade Organisation, the Indo-Pacific, ASEAN and China.

Our Speakers:

Patricia Holmes, Assistant Secretary (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade), will present the outlook for foreign affairs and trade policy developments in 2024, including the role of key multilateral institutions and regional bodies in advancing Australia's national interest.

Prof Peter Draper, Executive Director (Institute for International Trade), will reflect on 'the year ahead' in conversation with Patricia Holmes and the audience.

Please join us afterwards for catered networking.
